Candice Mitchell is an L&D Strategist, CEO of Talent Collective, and USA Today bestselling author of Choose You: For the People Who Refuse to Disappear. With nearly two decades of experience building and leading capability functions inside global and Fortune 500 organizations, she founded Talent Collective, a premium capability-building firm for L&D, HR, Change, and People leaders in high-growth companies. She created the Talent Development Academy, a 12-month membership program accredited by ATD, SHRM, and HRCI, and leads an expert Advisory Council of senior practitioners including Dr. Nigel Paine, Julie Dirksen, Chris Taylor, and Dr. Markus Bernhardt. She holds an MSc in Organisational Leadership and Strategic Innovation and Change from the University of Denver and is the host of the Development Nerds podcast. Her work centres on moving People functions from reactive order-takers to strategic business partners who drive measurable growth.

I started out at the Administrative level which means I know what it takes to logistically plan every course down to the last name tag.

I worked as a manager running nationwide L&D projects for thousands of people so I know how it feels to start with an idea and see it all the way through to facilitation.

I led an L&D team as a Director and I truly get how much effort a leader puts in to develop that high-performing team.

I run my business so I know the challenge of securing new clients, putting proposals together and then executing alone, with a small team or relying on freelancers.

the gap between knowing what good looks like and actually building it inside a real organisation is enormous. I've been on both sides of that gap, and I've spent nearly two decades closing it.

That's why I built the Talent Development Academy. Not a course. Not a one-day event. A 12-month membership that gives L&D leaders the strategy, the community, and the accountability to do the work that actually matters.
